Apply security hardening steps to your Ionos servers including dedicated servers and virtual private servers (VPS).
After provisioning your severs in a default configuration only some basic security controls are enabled leaving your newly created servers vulnerable to network based attacks, if not secured.
Additional hardening steps including enabling security controls and applying cyber security specific configuration settings to operating systems are required to secure servers before they are ready for production use to host websites, applications or other services that are publicly available.
We will secure servers for Ionos customers for a small fee, and can provide ongoing cyber security support either on ad-hoc basis or using subscription model. As an approved Ionos Premium Agency partner, we can safely, and securely work on your servers with your approval to apply security hardening steps that are required for servers and infrastructure.
How it works?
You can either contact us by phone or email and explain what servers need to be secured or you can place the order online and somebody will be in touch with you to fulfil the order.
What steps are involved?
Place the order online, and provide Ionos contract number for the server that needs to be secured.
After receiving your order, we will review it and will contact you to discuss next steps.
Using Ionos Agency Partner Portal, the customer grants partial access to Nantorex Ltd to the contract number that is linked to the server that needs to be secured. This is the final step required to secure your servers.
How long does it take to apply security hardening steps to servers?
Immediately after order is placed and the payment is received, our team will begin working on securing your Ionos servers. Depending on the level of security that is required by the customer, the time needed to apply all required security measures varies, however typical duration is listed below for the reference:
1 hour (basic package)
2 hours (intermediate package)
4 hours (advanced package)
What is included?
Basic package – essential security hardening steps including securing network services and applying firewall changes to your server. This package is included by default in all configurations at no extra cost.
Intermediate package – everything from the basic package plus more advanced controls including application level security and security hardening allowing the server to withstand more sophisticated attacks.
Advanced package – everything from the basic and intermediate packages plus applying additional security controls, reviewing and securing operating system permissions, reviewing and securing identity and access management controls, removing software and packages that aren’t functionally required to reduce the attack surface.
The services included in this package include security support for one Ionos server for 30 days (one calendar month), including applying security hardening steps. The price depends on the level of security required by the customer and the type of server selected: dedicated server vs virtual private server (VPS). Terms and Conditions
The monthly subscription service fee includes not only the required level of security hardening of the server (basic, intermediate or advanced) but it also adds cyber security support for the server. The server security hardening steps will remain active on the server for life (even if the subscription expires or it is cancelled) as long as they are not intentionally or unintentionally modified. However, if the customer deletes the server or replaces the operating system, some operating system specific security settings will be lost, and will need to be reapplied.
The subscription expires automatically after one month and has to be manually renewed by the customer to continue with the service. If the subscription is no longer required, it can be cancelled by the customer anytime with immediate effect and without additional preconditions. We do not require payment details and do not store them to process automatic renewals.
Customers have flexibility to manage their own subscriptions using our online portal. For custom orders that require support for multiple servers, please contact our Customer Support Team.
Order Instructions
Select what server type you need to secure: dedicated server or virtual private server (VPS).
Select what security hardening package you would like to apply from the following options: basic (included in price at no extra cost), intermediate (extra cost) or advanced (extra cost).
Add the reference number for the Ionos server contract that you would like to secure to “Order notes” during the checkout. This information will enable us to identify the correct server.
Our online order processing system will allow you to add multiple server support packages to the basket e.g. one dedicated server and one virtual private server each needs to be added separately to the basket.
Multiple servers of the same type can be added at once to the basket by selecting e.g. 5 as the quantity for the order. Using the above example the quantity of 5 will denote 5 servers of the same type as configured from the drop down menu. Each of the 5 servers will receive security hardening and dedicated security support. However, the higher the server count is the higher the cost will be to the customer.
How to grant access to Nantorex Ltd to specific Ionos contract to complete security work on the server?

At the top of the screen select the option “Grant Nantorex Ltd access to your IONOS account with Connect & Care” and follow instructions. Only partial access to the contract that needs to be secured is required. Full access is not required and should not be granted. Access can be revoked or granted by the customer anytime before or after completion of work, depending on customer’s needs and preferences. However, our team can only start securing your servers once the partial access has been granted to the correct server contract.
